You can’t go to any store or shopping center this time of the year without seeing the “Santas” out front ringing their bells for donations. Many people just walk by and ignore the bell-ringing Santas. Luckily, there are some generous individuals who will take the time to pull out their wallets and donate to those in need.
The bell-ringing Santas are part of the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is a reputable charity organization. They charity operates purely on donations, so every penny counts. If you would like to donate to the Salvation Army, here are some ideas for you.
1. Of course, you can always give money. You can donate by putting a couple of dollars in the Santa bucket the next time you go shopping. Or you can send a more sizable donation directly to the Salvation Army. Money is always needed to help buy supplies and to keep the charity operating. You can donate through Pay Pal, with a credit card, or a check.
2. Volunteer. All charities are in need of helping hands and time. If you can donate a few hours to help the needy, please find a Salvation Army near you. Charities cannot survive with volunteer hours from willing people. You can help with disaster relief, prison rehabilitation, youth, and Christmas charity. There are many options and places to volunteer within the Salvation Army.
3. Donate your sky miles. An interesting option for donation with the Salvation Army is to give your sky miles. United Airways and Delta sky miles can be donated to the Salvation Army.
The next time you see one of those Santas ringing a bell, be sure to open your heart and help those in need. Every little bit helps, so even if you only have $1 to give, your $1 is welcome. You can trust that your time and money is going to a reputable organization when you donate to the Salvation Army.
